Are you where you want to be in your life?

Many people who answer “No” to that question are controlled by fear.  Fear of failure.  Fear of change.  Fear of the unknown.  Fear of even, yes, success.  It is sometimes easier to stay with what we know and where we at.   But easier is not always best.

Franklin D.  Roosevelt said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”  In my opinion, his words are wise.

You might be thinking, “What do you know Jeannette?  You haven’t experienced what I have experienced.”  To that I say, You’re right.”  I DON’T KNOW what your experiences are and I don’t know how they feed your fear.  What I DO KNOW is that have been controlled by fear.  I have struggled with taking action, because I might fall flat on my face.  I have resisted risk taking, because risks make me feel vulnerable.  I have turned my back to my imagination, because others might think my ideas are ridiculous.  And then I took out a 3×5 card and wrote this:

  1. I will no longer let fear control me.
  2. I will not give in to fear.
  3. Fear will not decide for me.
  4. I am stronger than fear.
  5. I will have the career I want.

I carried the 3×5 card with me and looked at it every single day.  And then … great things happened ….
