After feeling particularly challenged by a series of unfortunate events in the past couple weeks, I woke up this morning feeling deflated and unmotivated. With a long to-do list in front of me and very little umph to tackle it, I asked myself, “Well Jeannette, what do you tell people in your training workshop on motivation?” Good question.
Change my perspective. A few seconds later I Googled “quotes on positivity”. After reading about 8 quotes I found the one I needed and promptly posted it on my Facebook page as a reminder to myself. “What is the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity? Our attitude toward it. Every opportunity has a difficulty, and every difficulty has an opportunity.” ~J. Sidlow Baxter
Aaaah. Feeling better already!
Surround myself with happy. I changed my timeline photo on Facebook from a cool artistic photo I took of water dripping from a faucet, to one of my family that makes me laugh!
Laughter is good for the soul!
Baby steps. I looked at my to-do list and began with fairly simple tasks that could provide positive momentum. Lo-and-behold I found myself writing this blog post shortly before noon: feeling inspired, energetic, and thrilled I checked out so many tasks on my list … including some big tasks.
Woohooo for me! So, go ahead challenges. Bring it on. I am ready!
