Are you where you want to be in your life?

Many people who answer “No” to that question do so because they are controlled by fear.  Fear of failure.  Fear of change.  Fear of the unknown.  Fear of even, yes, success.  It is sometimes easier to stay with what we know and where we at.   But easier is not always best.  Fear not.

Franklin D.  Roosevelt said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”  Wise words, don’t you think?

Maybe right now you are saying to yourself, What do you know Jeannette?  You haven’t lived my life. You’re right! I DON’T KNOW what your experiences are and I don’t know how they feed your fear.  What I DO KNOW is that I have been controlled by fear.  I have struggled with taking action, in fear of falling flat on my face.  I have resisted risk taking, because I fear the feeling of vulnerability.  I have turned my back to my imagination, in fear of others thinking my ideas are ridiculous.  And then I took out a 3×5 card and wrote this:

  1. I will no longer let fear control me.
  2. I will not give in to fear.
  3. Fear will not decide for me.
  4. I am stronger than fear.
  5. Fear is my momentum.

I carried the 3×5 card with me and looked at it every single day.  And then … great things happened ….
